this last Sunday, as with every Sunday, either A ward or B ward is host to ward church - where patients, day volunteers and crew gather together and worship the one and only true God, African style. Westerner's have to get over their reservations of moving their feet and clapping their hands and Africans sing and worship with true joy and abandonment. this particular Sunday was extra special as there was a dress ceremony for 11 VVF ladies included as part of the service.
These woman were beautiful, radiant, joyful, grateful and full of gratitude for the healing that has taken place in their bodies, lives and in their soul. Each woman has the opportunity to share a short testimony as part of the ceremony - sharing with us a small part of their story to healing. Some woman speak for 5 minutes, others can only muster up a few words of complete gratitude as tears fall down their cheeks. I have to admit that it doesn't help having sometimes more than one translator having to bring the story to us in English - but this is something that I have had to get used to.regardless of how many translators - this is what it is all about.
Anyways two woman this Sunday shared their before and now story...before one was a Muslim, but now she's see what Jesus has done for her and through her condition has now converted to Christ :)
and another wasn't a believer before, but now having come to the ship, she now believes!
this is what it is all about...yes the outward healing is great, but ultimately even with a healed body, the soul is still going to die. But with Christ there is true healing, restoration and freedom now and for all eternity. My Spirit is rejoicing with all the angels of Heaven over two more who have been saved :)
Last month there were two caregivers on A ward who were voodoo priests, both turning their lives over to Jesus, through the visual example of the compassion of people being Jesus' hands and feet.
Thank you Jesus!
