Ashes to Beauty

it is hard to try and describe what it is like to nurse these VVF ladies; they have suffered so much, so much that isnt even discussed and things that i have no idea about - their testimonies giving me a small glimpse of what they have had to endure. Heart wrenching stories or ridicule and insolation...stories of sorrow and suffering. But through all of this their inner strength is so evident. they choose life.

In the wards there are two extremes; immense joy or sorrow. For the ladies are either dry or still wet. But there is joy in that place, joy beyond circumstances or situations. As the ladies watch their sisters dance with joy for their healing, some are still waiting patiently for theirs to come.

Its a place I feel so so happy and a place also that my heart breaks.  As some are discharged with a new life ahead and others go home with their hopes dashed, still waiting for their day of dryness to come. The tears flow, flow, flow.

But through it all we hold onto the truth, rely on the truth that God is in control. He that created each of these ladies; and you and me and He makes no mistakes. His plan is perfect and his will prevails through the joy and the sadness. For us its not to question his plan or purpose, but to praise Him for all that he has done. To praise him in the ashes and in the beauty.
