ok as last week was a busy one, but im through it, in a better place than i started....so much has been going on on the wards. along with a back injury, the runs and being run down, mouth ulcers etc...but having had a number of days just to switch off and relax i am full again, set, ready and equipped to go on.
along with all of that CHRIST IS RISEN...so there has been much rejoicing on the ship today. a sunrise service and morning service, a tasty brunch and fish and chips tonight - to mark the day that the Africa Mercy first entered the shipyard in the uk to begin her adaptation from train transporter to hospital!
another funny story this morning - a few of us we reading the gospel accounts of the resurrection around the reception desk this morning, at about 7am after the sunrise meeting! a guest walked up to the desk asking when the morning service was and we pipped up that it was actually at 8am, not 7am and was in the international lounge. the guest then said that he did think it was 8, before realising that his watch was still on congo time. so we showed him where the international lounge was and i presume he went back to his cabin to wait another hour. i thorght nothing of it, until during the meeting this morning one of the speakers was the current Vice President from the Democratic republic of CONGO ---- ahhh the two things then clicked, the guest this morning that I hopefully politely explained things too was actually a vice president! goodness this community living onboard certainly is varied, with so many people arriving and departing on a daily basis...and amongst the people are vice presidents without me even knowing! just another little random mishap that fills my days here x
Hey Mary. Just had a catch up on all of your goings on.... so just thought I'd say hi, and send some love your way. You're doing so great :) Bon xx
